Square Head Set Screws
Our square head set screws are built for technicians and engineers who demand mechanical reliability, high-torque handling, and repeatable adjustability in demanding applications. We machine these fasteners to tight tolerances from premium-grade materials including heat-treated alloy steel, stainless (304, 316), and custom alloys on request.
The square head profile offers several advantages: increased wrenching surface area, better torque transfer, and ease of use in assemblies where visibility or access is limited. Common in heavy-duty locking and adjustment assemblies, square head set screws are frequently used in power transmission equipment, shaft collars, and bearing housings where secure, non-rotational fastening is critical.
Threads are cold-rolled or precision-cut to Class 2A/3A (UNC/UNF) or 6g (metric) tolerances. We support a wide range of diameters—from #6 through 1″, and M3 through M24—and lengths to spec. Point configurations include flat, cup, cone, and dog, all held to concentricity tolerances optimized for axial holding force and minimized shaft scoring.
We routinely provide secondary operations such as zinc plating, black oxide, nickel, phosphate, or mechanical galvanizing, along with optional thread locking compound pre-application. Custom thread forms and non-standard geometries are available per print or per spec.
All batches are fully traceable with certification to ISO 9001 and material certs (C of C, RoHS, DFARS) available upon request. We specialize in both high-volume production and short-run custom fabrication.
