Our precision-ground dowel pins are engineered for exacting alignment, location, and load-transfer functions in assemblies where repeatable accuracy is non-negotiable. We manufacture both standard and custom dowel pins to meet or exceed ASME B18.8.2, B18.8.3M, ISO 2338, ISO 8734, and DIN 6325 standards.
Each pin is produced from high-grade raw material—typically hardened 416 or 420 stainless, 303/304/316, or alloy steels heat-treated to 60–62 HRC for maximum wear resistance and dimensional stability. We hold exceptionally tight tolerances on diameter (±0.0001″) and length (±0.001″) to ensure true position accuracy in high-precision mating components such as bearing housings, die sets, and gearbox assemblies.
Available in metric and inch diameters ranging from 1mm to 25mm (or 1/32″ to 1″) and lengths to spec. We offer plain, chamfered, double chamfered, and radius end configurations. Diameters can be configured as press-fit (nominal +0.0002″ to +0.0005″) or slip-fit (nominal to -0.0002″) depending on the application’s tolerance stack-up and thermal expansion behavior.
Specialized coatings such as passivation (ASTM A967), electropolishing, or black oxide are available, as well as cryogenic treatment and magnetic particle inspection for aerospace and defense contracts. We also supply hollow and vented dowel pins for thermal relief or vacuum purge systems.
All dowel pins are batch-inspected for roundness, straightness, and surface finish (≤8 µin Ra standard). C of C, material certs, and PPAP documentation are available for all lot-controlled orders.
